Ugh. The whole thing seems to me like it's "trying too hard". The interior especially, which I find dizzyingly busy. And that stupid design trend that MB and Audi are doing right now, with the display stuck onto the top center of the dash like a misplaced iPad? What the heck are they thinking??

Looks interesting. Double wishbones all around, dry sump, aluminum frame, hydraulic steering, adaptive suspension, V8, turbos in the V, some nice stuff. I'd miss rowing the gears, but then the DCT performance can't be denied and the market for 6MT is small. Curb weight is what I'm curious about.
All and all a nice effort--a bit pricey--but given competition (probably 991 Turbo and M6) it's not all the bad. |

Different segment though. I don't think these would be cross shopped by most. |

I like the SLS quite a lot. It's original. This just looks like one with a 911 xerox'd on back. Not a fan of designs that "borrow" so heavily from other marques. It was a sad day when I saw the Audi NSX the first time.

I sat in the one MB had at the Toronto auto show last week. I was shocked they had it open. It was quite the car, I was really impressed by its looks. The line was busy to get into it, so I didn't stay in it as long as I would have liked to. I have always loved the SLS, but it's a a little big for me (let's leave what I can actually afford out of the conversation), so the GTS is doing it for me. I'll check in on the used market in another 5 years!

I remember my tongue almost fell out when I first read the specs of the BMW V8 with the dual turbos sitting up top (S63 I think) they were putting in X5M and X6Ms. Something similar to the MB engine, in the neighborhood of 500+ hp and twist below 2K rpm.

I like the car a lot. They reviewed this car on Top gear a few weeks ago (not the most reliable source, but entertaining). It did well on the track - I think it came in just between the Konnegseggggggsseggg and the Veyron.
