WTT/WTS ($250) strong strut for oem.

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
I'm considering trading my strong strut bar for OEM, I work on my car a lot and it's easier to take the OEM off, plus I just like a cleaner OEM look.

2 things though, strong struts $100 more then OEM.

and most people scratch up their OEM bar from the nuts, and I don't want a scratched up one.

Are you looking for the OEM strut bar that goes across the strut towers, or the firewall brace, or both?

Just looking for the brace across the strut towers, not firewall braces. What I have is just the brace across the towers.

In reply to the PMs, yes the strong strut has minor fitment issues. Mainly the idle control valve hose was a bit high on my car from the factory so I had to grind the bar down a bit to clear. I'll take a picture, it is minor and you don't see it. (it's on the back side)

I'll sell it outright for 250, or trade for a good condition OEM bar + cash

Hmmm...interesting, indeed. I thought I was the only one with the issue of the valve hose hitting the bar since no one else mentioned about the problem. I contacted Paul at strong strut and he also mentioned that this was a very rare problem and sent me a couple of 1/16" riser plates for the bar to create some extra clearance. But I also ended up having to grind out a bit as well to give it some extra room.

One thing for sure, though, is that you'll get excellent support from Strong Strut should you run into any issues.

Let me get pictures up first, even though I want an OEM in perfect condition mines not "perfect" in my opinion.

You can see the cut out section here:

Overal (ignore the temporary wiring)

Showing the bolts, there's supposed to be washers under these, but I lost them. I'll try and get new ones before shipping it, but without the washers it compresses the aluminum a bit, doesn't really hurt its function though.

Doesn't matter mine will fit perfect . You literally can't see it when it's on the car.
