Roadster Intravee install - thru the Boot

I'm posting this as all the diff threads on this seemed to be geared towards Coupes or going thru the Rear center console. I think that for 99% of roadsters the boot is the way to go. Lot less stuff to break and a lot less skill needed.

I'm still waiting on my Intravee/KCA-420i/serial cable so this first post will get us to the point where I locate the 6 pin & 3 pin CD changer cables.

Tools needed: two flathead screwdrivers(for prying carpet screws) and two 15 inch 2x4's(wood)

Boot carpet removal:

Awesome...I am going to be installing a Dice Silverlight Pro as soon as I get it (on order). This write up will really help me install in my roadster.

Roadster Intravee install - thru the Boot - PART 2

Tools needed:
Drill and 1 inch bit (forstner bit works great)
Utility knife
Ratchet w/ 8 and 10mm sockets
Velcro(approx 2 feet)
Car vacuum - you will make a little mess drilling through plastic.

Components needed: Intravee II and Alpine KCA420i w/both cables

Notes:
1. The amplifier is removed by pulling the velcro and just pulling from the outside
2. When drilling the hole it went easier from inside the car as opposed from the boot.
3. Before you reattach the Amplifier mount, Power Up, Connect the Ipod/Iphone and make sure everything works.
4. When replacing carpet, work you hand with the nut behind it, pull carpet to align holes and push plastic screw into the nut. Carpet is durable, dont be afraid to pull on it.

5. This configuration will not charge any of the newer Ipods/Iphones. Buy and attach a Scosche iPhone PassPORT to the cable and it should take care of it. If you dont care for how bulky the Passport is then also purchase a Dock extender cable. Place the PassPORT in between your original cable and the extender cable.
