anyone have an eta on when they will have the new 300 cell cats installed? I am looking into picking up a set and would love to see some reviews regarding whether or not they get a cel
Happy new year! |

Worked on mine after work today. Pulled the exhaust from headers back because I've found that to make it "easy". Also installed new RE Trans mounts and will be installing the DKF exhaust mounts. Was distracted when the girlfriend came by to pick something up. She opened the garage door, made it cold and distracted me for 45 mins. By then, laziness and hungry started to set in and I called it a night.
Current setup is/was: -SS V2 Stepped headers -OEM Section 1 with relocated O2 sensors -RE X-pipe -Stromung Cans With the setup above, no CEL and pass emissions. Trying to decide if I should put in the Section 1 with resonators until the light comes on, then swap to CAT, do a drive cycle and see if light goes out Or Should I just put the CATs in and drive it. Obviously 2nd option would be quicker/easier but with the first option, I'd be able to create the issue, then (hopefully) solve it. Don't need to do emissions until May. |

Even if you pass with the current CATs, these might provide a little more noise reduction.

for what i use my car for with the RPI reducers in i can live with the noise! but i agree these should cut noise alittle but due to their being such a small amount of actual cat material id guess still very noisey, the 100 cell sounds like a straight pipe...

Well more progress was made last night until I hit a snag.
I had replaced the Transmission mounts with RE black ones. The studs are longer and they are either hitting or less than 1 mm away from the section one. Didn't see this until the section 1 and Xpipe were bolted up tight. If I leave it like this, it will rattle/buzz/drive me nuts and probably eventually poke a hole through the pipe. I plan to drop the exhaust a few inches to get my dremel in there and shorten that stud because I don't feel like rerouting all the o2 sensor wires again. Also I hate those 4 bolts that connect Header to Section one. As soon as I saw it, I remembered that I had seen a thread about it a while ago but I guess it slipped my mind. |

Were the replacements heat coated like the OG's? Mine are pretty shiny.
