I have this same brace on my 2005 Z4 and the fit is perfect. Can't really tell the impact as I did it when I upgraded my stock sport suspension to eibach springs and Koni yellows. Handling is hugely better.

Thanks Brendanto. I'd keep it if it cleared the S54 motor.

I know Ultra Racing Strut bar comes really close to the motor on my 2006 3.0I. They do look good though.

I actually took off my OEM Strut Brace and fitted the Ultra Racing. I prefer it for ease of oil changes. Downside is if you need to remove the beauty cover or further for maintenance/cleaning then you'll have to remove the bolts for your front struts. I hope this helps and here's a few camera phone pics.

I almost got one of these. Went with a Mechanik GmbH strut brace that has a finish no longer in production.

There are multiple good reviews of this strut brace and they are always white in color so this black one looks very different.

I had it powder coated before install, the exuberant white didn't sit well with me. My OEM Strut Brace was powder coated to match the supplemental bars. CF Rear Diffuser painted gloss black to match the gloss black roof and exhaust tips powder coated to match as well
