Z4M and 3.0si transmission differences

I am trying to understand what exactly are the differences between the z4m and 3.0si transmissions. My second gear synchro is getting tired, and I have found a very low mileage transmission from a 3.0si. Will this work in a z4m?

From another thread:

The Z4M uses the GS6-37BZ-TJEE (BMW part number 23007837983)

The 3.0si Z4 uses the GS6-37BZ-TJES (BMW part number 23007565178)

Does anyone know the significance or the last 4 characters?

I know for sure that the M transmission has the pivot bearing in the crankshaft, checking on realoem 3.0si seems to have the same thing.

I think that the Z4M transmission have different internals, same ratio though.
You shoud ask http://wanganstyle.com/
He seems to know his stuff and rebuilds transmissions regularly.

Over the years following various threads on lubrication, transmission mounts, shift problems..... for our Z4s, I can't remember anyone ever mentioning that there were trans differences between the M and Si cars.
