Dynoing the Z4M
Where do you guys typically hook up the #1 coil rpm pickup (specific location would be great!)
I've read that E46s need some complicated procedure to run properly on the dyno (to avoid 6200rpm cut off). Do we need to do this with the Z4M?

One of the wires to any of the coils. Just pull the rubber boot back and try each wire till one gives you a signal. When I had my car dynoed; they run it up through 4th gear, turn the car off, restart it, and continue to do the pull in 5th. Not sure if that's the exact sequence you're supposed to do, but it works.

That is a pain! Do the wheels just have to be rolling at any speed for this to work? So, I assume this isn't simply an e46 issue?

No special procedures we're necessary on my run last year. Ran it with TCS On & Off no difference. Also 4th Vs 5th gave the same results. Dyno operator recommendation was do it in 4th so you can get more runs in.
The hardest thing is finding tie down spots. If anyone knows good locations please chime in.... |

They did it because some previous M3s required it. Try it just normal and see if it works; I'm going to try it next time I go.
