Aftermarket-too old?

I am no stranger to BMW having a 08 BMW 128i. I had that auto for 7 years! But there seems to be a shortage of ANY exhaust, cold air boxes, and go-fast parts and the like OR am I looking into the wrong places? (ECS, Euro) And I guess the exhaust for $2500 to $3500 is way out of my budget! As in the past, if I couldn't buy it, I made it on my own! I think I have owned too many Miata's and GTI's where everybody and their brother made aftermarket stuff! Be gentle with me, I'm 73!

Yes the non-M Z4 is pretty hard to find exhausts for. Most folks have something made up at a muffler shop. There is an Eisenmann option but it's pricey.

I screwed up my exhaust system for a few years, and then devised and installed the following items on my E85 Z4 3.0si:

Schmiedmann High Flow Sport Cats
Part # SCM5254KATUR
35x25x15cm
Inlet 59mm
Outlet 61mm
$292.47

MagnaFlow Resonator
Part # 11378
Inlet size: 2.25”
Outlet size: 2.25”
Diameter: 4

A-1 Performance
$102.73 each

Different Trends 3.5” Exhaust Tips
Part # DT-24017AC
Inlet size: 2.25”
Outlet size: 3.5”

A-1 Performance
$18.51 each

The sound fits the car and adds growls, hisses, occasional pops and gurgles. The high flow cats are secondary and will not trigger a CEL. It’s a tiny resonant that replaces the stock exhaust system.

And the exhaust tips a large at 3.5 inches each, but they fill the exhaust cutout of the factory rear valance when centered perfectly.
