Rear coilover conversion

I just want to see if it's been done and if any of you can chip in with their expertise regarding a possible conversion.

When I bought the car I went with a cheap set of aftermarket suspension. So now I am thinking of replacing it but if I do it I want to consider all my options.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

MCS makes one, but there is no benefit in doing this.
Plus you would need structural modifications to the rear damper top mount. ( e.g. Roll bar)

Rear coilover kits were developed primarily when there was no way to adjust the rear spring heights other than shim plates.
Now with articulating adjustable rear perches there is really no benefit to a rear coilover.
It would change the spring rate because it moves more outboard, but performance is really no better.

The spring in the bucket isn't much more inboard than the shock on a Z4. By my measurements, the stock spring sits 14.5" from the inboard pivot point of the upper arm, the shock is at 17". This on a 21" span. So not nearly as big a difference as some people think.

Plus it's much easier to adjust your ride height with the articualting perches than a coilover when doing your corner balancing.
