Look what happened to my car!

I parked my car in this public parking lot a few nights ago. Look what happened when I came back.. motha-f$#4ker.

Does anyone know how much would this cost to fix professionally?

Damn... same thing happened to my previous Z4 ( replaced it with an Mcoupe) early last year but it was hit pretty bad on the door itself and nothing on the fender, the good part part was it was parked when it was hit but the sad part was the guy left the scene...I opted for the body shop to replace the whole door which they did and the cost was @ 1400...g/l

I wish KARMA onto those that did that.

There's just no excusing it.

Security cam perhaps?

Z4Girl4U's also in NY with a white Z4 - it's just not a safe place for them, I suspect.

I'd say you're looking at $1000 to $2000 in damage from a pro depending on labor rates there. That's going to need to be knocked out and refinished; you're lucky that Alpine white should be an easy paint match.

if the damage is just on the quarter panel then you can just get the whole part replaced... that piece alone is like $400.... i know i had an issue about my suspension with my shop but body wise, you cant tell the car has ever been touched... the paint is perfect...

Oh man, that sucksss big time. Like ZGirl4U said, if it's just the quater panel, you can just replace the part. Though it doesn't look really really bad and I'm certain a body shop can strighten that it out and re-paint it. I would say around $500 to just get it fixed. (I don't mean at a BMW dealership but at a body shop)

From my experience, body shops around NYC usually charge $300-$400 to paint each section, ex.. bumper, side panels, doors. Though since you have some body work that needs to be done, they will charge you a bit more.

Ouch. There's absolutely nothing I can say to try to make you feel better... other than I hope Karma chases after the bastard really soon.

The same thing happened to my last car. Except I watched it happen as I was running toward my car to motion the guy to stop. Crunched my rear door to a tune of $1400 in damages. I got the asswipe, though, and his insurance happily paid to get it fixed.

If something like that is going to happen, sometimes it's better that you weren't there to hear and see it all happen. Ouch X2. Good Luck and I'm sure it'll all be sorted out soon.

I went to a reputable body shop today and the question thats stuck in my head is.. Would you guys repair or replace it with OEM? It does seem like its an easy pull repair to me. Also they are charging me $690 to repair or $1280 to replace with OEM. Price sounds fair? The only panel thats really damaged is the quarter panel. The sideskirt has just a few nicks and scratches that can be fixed easily.

On the estimate it saids :

Body Labor 7.0 hrs @ 50.00/hr = $350.00
Paint Labor 4.1 hrs @ 50.00/hr = $205.00
Paint Supplies 4.1 hrs@ 20/hr = $82.00

=$637 + tax = $690

Tough choice...same choice i had when it happened to my previous Z4, the only thing that made me decide to replace it is it's alot easier and less hassle as the shop does not need to do any body work or put alot of bondo just to correct the issue...ultimately you have to ask yourself, "will i be happy with repair or replace"... your call.
