What arms did you go with? I'm seeing online generic cheaper ones and the Rogue Engineering ones that look super beefy but are a pretty penny as well. Hoping to find a good medium alternative!

your post is hard to understand. are you saying the stock spring rates were what were recommended, or stock springs? there's 2 different things. spring rates are customized to what you want. they have a factory equivalent spring rate, which is probably what you think "stock" is. for an additional charge, you can upgrade to swift springs, and customize those spring rates as well.

i just installed mine this weekend (coupe). i went with stock 10k springs up front and stock 12k springs in the back, and it's very comfortable, but stiff. i'm really happy with the ride quality. it feels better than most coilovers i've ridden in the past.

Yea that is what I'm trying to say for Roadster owners. yours is 10k front and 12k rear. This is what they told me "Thank you for that information! Based on your usage and setup I would recommend our 500 series coilovers with 8k front and 10k rear spring rates." thats 2k less front and back that they recommend me compare to your costume ones. I'm curious to know if roadster owners got the 8k,10k spring rates or higher for a daily car with few track days in summer.

i don't track my car. but i do prefer a stiff/firm ride, and i was planning on lowering my car quite a bit, so i wanted something stiffer that would have less of a chance of bottoming out.

8k in the front and 10k in the rear is what is recommended for the e85/e86 z4m platform. it's all about what YOU want. 8k and 10k will probably give you a very close to z4m stock suspension feel. however, i went 2k more for front and back, and i still feel like it's a very comfortable ride. i'm very happy with the way it all turned out.

so just an update, the fortune 500's didn't go low enough, i'm maxed out all the way down, and i still have a little under an inch gap between my tire and my fender (with a 5 mm spacer on the stock wheel).

However, after a short conversation with the guys over at fortune, they sent me over a set of "e36 m3 super low" bottom mounts, which should solve the problem.

Has anyone else had this issue? I'm on 19's on a 35 series tire and i want the fender to sit a tad below the top of the tire with no gap. Did they charge you extra for the bottom mounts?

they did, it was 100 plus shipping for the bottom mounts + swaybar endlink connectors.

however, i do place a bit of this on myself, since they asked if i wanted to be super low, which i said i didn't want to be all stanced out. however, after i was done, i wasn't really happy with the drop.

Sorry for the bad pic.

Not thrilled with how it looks right now, so not taking many:

Where did you order from? I wasn't given this option when I ordered mine. That drop looks very conservative like an 1 inch all around. I'm surprised? I heard that these coils can drop pretty low compared to H&R coils.

I ordered from Martin Motorsports, who is a local bmw shop that is a certified fortune auto dealer. the backs can still go down a little bit more, but the fronts are pretty much down all the way. i backed off about a 1/4 inch so that it's not fully bottomed out.

i'm going to be redoing the suspension install with the new lower brackets today, along with adjustable front swaybar endlinks, and readjusting the back when i get home from work.

Just got my Fortune Auto Series 500's today. These things look great! I got the 9k/11k combo with upgraded radial bearing and springs. Looks like I have the standard mounts not the short ones as p1nk50ck has mentioned. Has anyone had issues not being able to be "low" enough on 19's? Going to install these this weekend, hoping I wont have the issue of needing a different bottom mount.

I'm kinda shocked that fortune is still selling their coils with the wrong mounts. When I physically went there to have them sort out their issues, they admitted their standard springs are too tall with the standard lower mounts...you need either shorter swift springs(my set up) or the broadway static lower mounts...this was about a year ago they discovered this

no, i forgot to ask.

however, these coilovers feel great. I absolutely love the ride. very firm, but not jarring. cornering is predictable. riding on rough and bumpy surfaces doesn't feel uncomfortable.

I think if you properly set the pre-load on your springs, and have them lowered as much as they can go, you'll have a decent drop on 19's depending on your camber, tire setup, and wheel offset/spacing.

Got just about everything installed. The rear springs are in just need to get the shock in and we're set. Is it just me but I found the design of the fortune auto coilover rears to be not the best. The shock I was told is adjustable to set preload on the spring (I was advised to preload by 1/8th of an inch) and the spring with the adjuster cup (spring on top and the adjuster cup on the bottom) is to adjust for ride height. The control arm shape has a dip in the center so its actually impossible to adjust the height of the car with the spanner wrenches without taking that piece out every time to adjust. I know on the KWs this is opposite that the cup sits on top and spring is on the bottom so its easy to get to. Is this just me or is this design quite odd?

You can put the adjusters on the top or bottom in the rear, doesnt make a difference, but it also takes only a few minutes to drop the arm to take the spring and adjuster out to make a precise adjustment
