Brake Rotor: Minimum Thickness
Does someone happen to know the minimum rotor thickness for original equipment rotors on an M? Also, I'm assuming it is a metric measure (but the car universe is a strange place...). I don't have a micrometer. I see some relatively inexpensive ones on Ebay. Any reason to stay away from them? If so, are there particular brands that are not too expensive that I should look for.
Thanks folks. |

Answering my own question (after searching the net, but couldn't find here in our forum).
The matrix of specs is from Pelican parts but it checks out with a bunch of other threads on other forums. The picture is of the stamping on a front rotor. I could still use some recommendations on buying a micrometer though. [Edit] Doing some searching and it seems I will need to buy 2 micrometers since the front spec. is over 1 inch and the rear spec. is under 1 inch. Is that right? Or should I be able to find a micrometer that would be able to measure the range between 18.4 and 26.4mm? Or buy a 1" measuring block and a 1-2" micrometer?
