Imola Red Z4M Coupe Cleaned and polished
I was reminded today how much I hate any type of manual labor. I was really getting upset at the way my car was starting to look a little dull, so I decided to take Sunday to fix that.
I gave it my best, and it didn't turn out as good as I had hoped, but I think the pictures look pretty good. I think I'm going to have it professionally detailed the next time around. I worked on it for about 4 hours or so. I'm sure that doesn't seem like a whole lot to some of you, but for me this was a monumental task. Last edited by ausherpharmd; 04-11-2010 at 08:17 PM.. |

Looks damn good to me. Hey my uncle lives in the villages and has a Z4MR. You should look him up. He isn't on forums or anything but is a cool guy.

Do you leave your car outside in the sun a lot? It could just be the camera or the lighting, but the red looks a bit faded to me compared to others with the same color.

The car is out in the sun at work, so the answer would be yes to that. But, I've had it next to others and it looks the same. I think it's just the brightness outside and taking the pictures with auto-everything on the camera.

When I had it done, I told the guy to do it the darkest legal in Florida. The job was done poorly though - dirt underneath causing little holes when I put the windows down. I was pissed, but I got over it, and will have it redone soon.

From the FL regs:
the material has a total solar reflectance of visible light of not more than 25 percent as measured on the nonfilm side and a light transmittance of at least 28 percent in the visible light range. Looks like 28% is the limit there. 32% here in GA for front windows.... Here is a list for all states: http://www.tintdude.com/laws.html |

Yep. Looks like it was a bit cloudy too. White balance and few other setting are just a bit off. No big deal, and way better than issues w/the paint!
