M Coupe 3rd Brake Light

Greetings,
Does anyone have a DIY for the removal of the 3rd brake light on the coupes? Also does that 3rd brake light have a fuse and is the light going out a common problem? Thanks!

I noticed, rather my friend behind me did, that it seems like it is common for a few of the LED bulbs to go out. Im also interested but not sure about shelling out 80+ for just a few more LED to light up. If I ever do it I'll post up a diy. In the mean time if anyone has a diy please chime in please
