Thanks for the link.

I have been searching awhile for that info. I want to wait a couple of months before I do anything radical with the suspension but I did want to add a little more camber.. Just ordered....

This 'ultimate suspension guide' is less than ultimate. There are other options out there than what is listed here.

What did we do before Google?
Try using this conversion table: http://www.unitconversion.org/unit_c...torque-ex.html

Yeah the OP needs to update this. I have Dinan springs and I LOVE them! They're not noticeably harder than stock but the handling difference is huge - understeer is gone.

I haven't mod'd my m roadster so i'm pretty new at all this. I have a set of stock rims / tires and am looking at 19" lighter weight wheels. Will the car ride higher and do I need to lower the suspension or will the car sit at the same height with the only difference being the wheels will fill the wheel well more? The rims are a staggered 19x8.5, 19x9.5 with 245/35 and 275/30 rubber. Thanks.

+1 Dinan Springs...they don't lower the car but change it completely. That with the Dinan camber plates and Koni adj. struts/shocks fully remove understeer from the older non M Z4's

Questions that may be of interest to nonM car owners.

1. What are the factory suspension settings for sport package cars? For standard suspension cars?

2. If going to lowering springs, what options are there for adjusting f/r camber other than camber plates?

3. It appears that lowering springs (Eibach/H&R...) on a standard suspension car will shorten strut/shock travel and result in decreased life of the oe components. Does this condition also apply to the sport suspension cars which are lower (about 0.75 inch)? Related question: are the oe sport suspension struts/shocks shorter to maintain full travel then the non-sport components?

Are the drops for the standard Z4 with the regular suspension, or is that additional drop on top of the sport suspension drop? I have the Eibach Pros on another car and while the drop was aggressive it rides way way softer than my Z4 with the exact same rims/tires.

Especially when it comes to potholes. My Z4 (sport suspension) tends to have decent upwards travel for bumps on the road, but dips in the road (i.e. potholes) it seems the wheels can't extend down quick enough and instead the whole corner of the car crashes into the dip with a thunk.

I don't care for more of a drop, it's a year round car. It's not a track car. I would like to maintain the sport suspension drop but with a good spring/shock combo that can handle street imperfections better.

Anyone have the Eibachs on their Z4 Roadster?

2006 Z4M Coupe Suspension Upgrades

My suspension upgrades work great. The 2006 Z4M Coupe is used mainly as a track HPDE car and it consistently gets complements from instructors on how well the car is setup.

1. Ground Control sway bar set front and rear
2. Bilstein PSS10 Coilovers – This car got one of the first PSS10 coilovers setups that Bilstein shipped to the US in the spring of 2010. Easy to adjust for track and street.
3. Turner Camber Plates

The stock suspension works OK on the street and track, but with these upgrades it seems like you just need to think about turning and the car is there. I’ve run this set up in 2010 for 10 HPDEs and will be using it again this year with no changes.

FYI - 15mm Rear Spring Pads (pair)

FYI - 15mm Rear Spring Pads (pair)
Part #: 33531094754

useful to even out drop with lowering springs.

From Turner Motorsport's description:
BMW used three different spring pads in the E36/E46/3 series, each a different thickness, the thinnest being only 5mm. If they chose to use the thinnest pad on your car, you may end up with a ride height in the rear a little lower than you expected when lowering you car with sport springs. If this is the case, we suggest using these 15mm rear spring pads. These mount on TOP of the rear spring in the E36 and either top or bottom on the E46" ( and Z4M).

With your set up.
What are the alignment specs and how is tire wear?

Thanks

I wanted to give my take on the KW V3 height max on my Z4MC. My rear can reach oem height. I can even go a tad higher than oem if I exceed their recommended settings which seem very conservative. I initially went too high in the back because I was trying to keep OEM height. I had to lower it a bit cuz it looked like an offroad vehicle. In the front you definitely cannot reach oem height. At absolute max height it is still 0.4inch lower than oem. The front doesn't have the extra thread room like the rear does.

I haven't fiddled enough with the settings yet but I can say the car is much more predictable. It is way more fun to drive and I haven't even dialed it in. I went a click harder on rebound than the recommended settings for street use and I still plan to go a few clicks harder while remaining very comfortable.

My Suspenion Setup Suspension - KW V1, with BMW Performance Suspension kit (E46 fitment excluding struts and sway) and other OEM parts. (shock mounts, tie rods, and endlinks) and Turner RSM reinforcement plates.

+

- Your impressions of your setup compared to stock.
Personally I would say that I prefer this set-up compared to my stock one simply because my stock suspension had 72k miles on it, and a crapped spring and a blown strut.

- Pros/Cons
Pros - The low
Cons- The low the scrapping

- Any issues or considerations (install, intended use, so on)No issues really all it is is nuts and bolts. The hardest part is adjusting the height.

- Opinion on whether you'd do it again
Id definitley would do this again in a heart beat.
