Just saw Dealership 2006 Z4M on lot

Just was picking up some Parts at Bert Smith BMW in St Petersburg FL. Detail guy just was parking a 2006 Blue Z4M Vert ( nice new looking top ) onto the sales lot. Salesman didn't even have it priced yet. Came out and said 18,750 it's got 86K on the milage. Just wanted to put it out there.

Wow if they priced it at $18,7xx that means they took the trade in for about $14,000. Even at 86,xxx miles seems awfully low, no?

So Slickshift, is The Hack right, did they give you $ 14,000 in the trade in ? Not sure what type of shape you traded it in at, but the detail looked pretty nice. ( I detail as my side hustle ) That freshly detailed blue in the sun looked amazing. I'm I correct in my assumption that the top has been replaced ? With 56K on mine ( I paid $19K out the door in St Pete from a place called MYVEHICALAGENT.COM they has a lot of cool sports cars. They had 4 Maserati's in the shop last weekend. ) I wish my top looked that nice. I got did a detail on it and a Fabric Guard treatment ( I posted project ) mine still looks a bit worn.

Top was original. I put a fabric guard on it a year or so ago. It wasn't driven much, so she was in the garage most of the time under my ownership. The car was far from perfect, but it still showed very well. Was going to need tires, valve adjustment, transmission and differential fluid service soon.

Carmax offered $11K for the car
Dealership #1 offered $13K
Bert Smith offered the most; y'all are better off selling privately if you're very patient, which I am not.

There are times I really wish I had Imola over Interlagos, it's a good thing I have too much into my current car or I'd be tempted to take you up on that!

I claybared front half of my car this AM at first light, LOVE my Imola Red. I drove into an unseen cloud of white paint overspray. Soooo, I was going to do a full paint detail anyway, but this just made the front of the car more work. I'm fairly new to the benefits of using the clay bar, but man is my paint unbelievably smooth now.

Also try tar/iron remover before hand. My AW was all sorts of filthy from neglect, and that, along with claybar did wonders!

I've always wanted some kind of a red BMW. I've had 5 BMW's, and still yet to get one!

Nope, did a total 180 and got a coupe. Florida is actually a horrible state for a convertible. lol May-Nov it's either raining or too hot to put the top down.

Stromung is awesome. Paired with my Spipe and Xpipe, I get crazy pops and burbles out the back. I can even manipulate it a bit, if I'm decelerating and give the gas just a little stab, I get a great *pop* every time. People comment all the time how nice it sounds in the back. It sounds so nice, I'm scared to get headers because I don't want to screw up the sound and introduce rasp. It's honestly the first BMW engine I've ever been happy with sound wise.

Stromung ftw! Painted mine with high temp barbecue paint btw.

+1 for Crawlin's statement. I would have flown from SF, bought it to keep the Interlagos MCoupe company for a few month, drove it home, and sold it easily for ~$20k in the summer out here.
Now who knows what abuse the car will get without fully warmed up oil and by "used car salesman of the month" demo car driving as a dealer car with cheap crap low budget off brand dealer tires, maybe Federals or some other Chinesium. Wouldn't risk that car at all now coming from a dealer lot. They'll declare it fine w/o the valve adjustment or anything else. Too late now...
Enjoy your new M2, oh wait, that was a used car dealer car too. Eek. Lease return are among the least maintained most beaten up on used cars out there, the lessee could care less about diligent maintenance or the next buyer as long as everything is under warranty when its their car.
