///m air box on a z4 n52
i noticed that the snorkel and the mounting points are identical between the ///m and the n52 air boxes....
1) the box for the ///m is larger and contains a larger filter. presumably this means better air flow, also a lower (possibly louder) intake sound. 2) the MAF sensors are different. but how? if the mounting points could be proven to be identical, would using the stock n52 MAF in the s54 box create issues? could any forseeable issues be resolved simply by resetting the "driver learning" throttle mapping back to factory default, therefore forcing the DME to learn the MAF values from scratch? 3) the intake boot inner diameter that comes out of the n52 air box is 83mm. what is the outer diameter of the hole on the s54 air box for its intake tube? obviously the best way to to do this is trial and error, but i don't have an ///m box laying around, so i'm coming to the experts here for ideas. what say you?

the resonator for the n52 is between the MAF and the throttle motor... a potential ///m box swap shouldn't affect that. at least, not that i can see.

Would it be worth the price? I don't know how much a ///M airbox would cost, but AFE intakes are less than $300 IIRC, but look a bit ricey. GL with your inquiry.

I can rent my stock airbox for someone's trial and error, for a reasonable price + shipping, to be returned in a month
