Summer Roadtrip 09
This summer I took an nice 10 day drive in the Z. I started out on the Bodensee and traveled the following route. Heidelberg, Nurburgring, Hooters near Kaiserslautern, Calais France, Ferry Ride to Dover UK, Brighton, Avebury, Bodmoor, London, the Chunnel back to France, Strassbourg, Black Forest and then home to the Bodensee. I've just pulled some interesting photos.
It was a great trip with a tightly packed trunk by the time I got home. Hope you enjoy.

Matty,
Wow, cool beyond words! Thanks so much for posting all these great photo's. I've been to a few of the places you mentioned (e.g., Nurburgring, Avebury), and now there are a bunch more that I have to get to! At least when the dollar rebounds a bit... Out of your many fine shots, I particularly liked the in-car blurred shrubbery one and the twin "old and older" bridges. Keep 'em coming! Rick F. |

Very nice photos.
How hard was it adapting to driving on the left in the UK? Or do you do that often?

I moved from K-town in Germany this summer. That Hooters nearby is the WORST! In terms of food anyway. Kullman's is pretty bad too...

I would agree to both but if you want something similar to a American Breakfast and don't want to make it yourself you do what you have to do. I like the location of the Hooters. The Building is amazing. I do think it is funny that they have to import American Waitresses.

Driving in England was different. You are very aware of driving on the left and passing on the right. I only messed up once in a traffic circle in a small village. It was my first time there and having my TomTom that reminded me to drive on the left every time I started the car helped.

Wifey wants to go on a driving tour of the UK next summer. If we rent, the car will be right-hand drive, which will make things doubly weird. Although sitting on the right side might make it easier to drive on the left.
