I have something similar which I put up at work(I got mine at Pep Boys for $80). It doesn't have the sides or end caps like this one. I love it. The only issue is the tarps wear out rather quickly(about 1 tarp per year for me.) I do think the one you cited would work well with the end caps as it would be fairly well sealed(wind is the enemy). Just have to make sure it is attached to the ground well.

I would be worried about a strong wind blowing it into the side of my car. The only tent things I have used are to tailgate so I am of no help.

Thankfully I have a BMW car cover, garage and a different winter vehicle so my poor zed does not have to bear the sand, salt and snow.

i have the 'BMW' car cover.... but am hesitant to use it outside in the winter. it doesn't seem to be waterproof, and i can see it freezing to the car.

speedygrl had it and used it in the winter outside. I am not sure if she is still on this site or not but you could ask her. I remember it saying it wasn't completely waterproof but it is water resistant, and if it is snowing that should be good enough I would think...

Either way, you are always better with more protection if only for the peace of mind.

My sister-in-law tried one of these for her Mustang GT 'vert. The wind picked it up, slammed it into the car and caused considerable damage. Your performance may vary.

The one I put up was mounted to the driveway with long spikes on one side and to the cinder block wall on the other. During a storm it was pulled apart(while I was not there fortunately . I put it back together and drilled small holes at each connection point and placed small sheet metal screws. Since that time it has been rock solid. The only thing I have to do is replace the tarp yearly.

I had one. It is water resistant, definitely not waterproof. It will suffice for a light rain, but mod/heavy rain will soak it.

I never had trouble w/it sticking to the car, but it doesn't get too cold here in MS.

May buy another one unless some1 can suggest a cheaper/better car cover.
