ARG! my z4 was eaten by a ford F-250

Yea caught him on servalence video leaving his parking space and running his truck which was a extended cab Ford f-250 down the side and front of my car. he turned to Sharp and basically hit my front left corner at a 45* angle ripping my facia off and braking the headlights and grinding the fender and scraping the wheel. AND KEPT GOING.....never even stopped ....add insult to injury when I was leaving my car this morning I looked back and noticed he had a sticker that said " out of a job yet keep buying foreign" so obviously he doesn't take kindly to foreign vehicles!

Oh well its repairable so took the facia off and it looks like ill be able to fix easily no structural damage....just a sucky start to the day......

This 'foreign vehicle' was made in one of the Carolinas.

Yea but I really dought your average F-250 driver would know that.

As far as insurance goes I'm paying out of pocket as I don't need to give my insurance company any reason to raise my rates, I'm insuring 6 cars through them and I figure a rate hike would outpost the damage done, and it would easily pay for itself if I fix it. Just cheaper that way. Unfortunate but that's life.

The video you can see but not well enough to make anything out.....they need 1080p servailence. So over black and white antiquated cameras for security.

Just for the record, Spartanburg is in South Carolina...I had the good fortune of following a Z4M all the way through the assembly line. Really interesting experience and definitely was one of the motivations behind deciding to purchase one several years later

Sorry to hear about the damage, sucks big time. On the bright side, were you planning any front end mods?

Damn! This bites--ignorance and hate are not pretty.

Here's to a good body shop and a car returned to good health. And finding this piece of trash that did this--felony isn't it?

Doesn't that just chap your a** ................... these rednecks have no idea what's American and what's not ................ I read somewhere that the Honda Odyssey has one of the highest percentages for US manufactured parts of any vehicle. The Japanese manufacturers build a lot of cars in the US now, and parts are outsourced all over the planet, even Detroit cars are full of non-US made parts. These fools just don't get it.

Sorry to hear. Hope you get it all repaired to your satisfaction. As for insurance. you may want to check with them, I'm not sure they would raise rates over a non moving accident such as this one.

wow i hate that kind of ignorant people, my e60 has been scratched by coins too many times and ive always dreamed about catching one of the freaks that like to do that (even left the car apparently unguarded just to catch the mf)that would be a hell of a good time to practice my boxing skills... in your case someone should teach a lesson to that stupid redneck who like to hit and run. those are the kind of citizens that makes the criminal system worthy of all those taxes

I'm sorry to hear what happened.

Some people are just amazingly inconsiderate of others. They think the world revolves around them, and there is no concept of social responsibility.

Knowing there are people like that, I try to do what I can, and park waaay out there.

Sorry, maybe I missed this but did this take place in your apt, office, etc.? If it's somewhere you park frequently, couldn't you find this vehicle again? Then it might be worth filing a police report...

Sorry to hear about the hit and run. What trash! I'd like to see this hillbilly live without buying foreign. Good luck on watching TV. Good luck on drinking Budweiser, which is now foreign owned. @$$hats.

I would be livid and on a hunt. BTW, the headlight alone will cost over 1 grand I believe.

Worth the time, might help to have a copy of the video to prove it wasn't you who was at fault.

OK went home at lunch today and really looked things over,
from the looks of it the main tab holding the light in had broke but looks repairable no scratches, used a buffer to take the scrapes down and the the marks on the headlight where just like sneaker marks and came off without issue so i think the headlight can be salvaged and made to be right again which would rock. looked at the inner parts and looked at what was whacked and lookes to be just the headlight frame and rod are bent so about $100 bucks in parts their new wheel well housing $100, new bumper $375 plus a few things here and their, the fender was my biggest suprise it held up amaizingly well i thought it would be damaged for sure, it will still need to be repainted as the clear coat took to much damage but all the paint from his truck came off and it looks almost unoticable from a few feet away.

im trying to look at this in a possative light and make the best of it.
this looks like i may walk away not to brused up after all. but from the mangaled look of it after i saw it i feared much worse.
