Back to the real subject...when I was 20, it mattered to me what most people thought about my car. Now that I'm in my 40s, I couldn't care less. I worked my ass off to get where I am today and I drive what I want. Some people seem to resent the fact that I don't drive a minivan or a Camry and think I'm immature, I have more money than brains or whatever they say to justify their bland lives.

If you can't appreciate the style, performance and fun the Z4MC brings, then go back to watching Survivor and your Coors Lite.

That's not back to the subject... that's justifying why you own a sporty car to soccer moms.

Now back to the INTERESTING topic...

Making it fit... hehehe.

I'm in my mid-30's, and even I get the "are you ever going to grow up" attidudes, but I must confess I am a TV junkie. I DVR everything from LOST to Sunny in Philly to Office. At least I'm drinking a Stella or Heiny instead of Coors Lite though.

I dont care what people think. I avoided letting my superiors see my car because they automatically think "she gets paid too much". Its not my damn fault Im not married and putting kids through college so i have to drive a honda accord. A few of my coworkers have seen it and they constantly put me on the spot. "Ooh what a fancy car" Blah blah. This is nothing. I want a ferrari!!!!!!!!!

My parents always gave me the guilt trip about any toy I bought (with my own earned money). I'd get the "We didn't have that when we were kids" crap. Sorry, but I don't have to live like that.

Also, I guess I'm in the demographic where most of my kid's peers are the middle class, 2.1 kids, mortgage, car payments, etc. I too have kids, we live well and within our means. I took the risks they would not take, I moved forward and got ahead. They stayed at the factory and lost their jobs with no real skills to get them going again. Well while they were watching TV, I was working.

Z4Girl, I'm with you...the Z4MC was a compromise (for now). Carrera GT on deck! (less maintanance than a Ferrari).

PBDM...my wife and kids have no problems getting in. They're all slim and fit. It's european, not american (you could fit a linebacker in a Soltice).

I'm with you guys on that. My boss drives a minivan and other managers drive Altimas or Integras.

I have no major obligations. I want to enjoy my life. So I bought the car...

I want a great life, not an average life. Work for it!

I agree, with no commitments other than student loans I decided to get what I want. I haven't heard any crap from anyone yet, my boss thinks it is a nice car and nothing more, she knows I live in an apartment though.

My parents don't say anything... then again it is almost worse that way because I feel guilty. I feel bad because I make the same amount of money starting out as either of my parents do after 20+ years in their perspective fields That and my mom just bought an '08 Honda Civic Si even though she has always wanted a convertible.

Nothing beats a parking lot full of middle aged engineers for sportscars. Midlife-crisis-mobiles in the lot include a couple of Vettes, a Viper, an M5, some Boxsters, a whole host of STi's and Civic Si's and the odd RX-8 and 350z. My Z4 coupe doesn't even get a second glance.
