M54B30 VANOS Piston Play - Do I need Anti-Rattle?

Hi all,

I'm working on replacing the VANOS seals, and I bought this kit off of Amazon to do the seals, since this entire kit (including the anti rattle rings and bearings) were the same price as a set of seals from Beisan: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09BF8Z8HH...t_details&th=1

Originally I was planning on just replacing the seals, but after watching a video from 50skid it seems that my VANOS pistons have too much rock in them. Here's a video I made showing the rock:

I would like feedback on how much rock is normal and whether I'm in the normal range (I think it's out of the normal range). I know radial play is okay, but axial play generally is not after reading the Beisan procedure. The engine didn't rattle when I got the car, but admittedly I barely put any runtime on it before tearing into it and didn't think to rev it up and listen for rattle.

The VANOS is a bitch to get out on a Z4, and after the effort it took me to get it out and not wanting to redo it, I'm debating returning the Amazon kit and buying the Beisan seal and rattle ring kit (i.e., I don't want to do this again and I'm not sure I trust Chinese rattle ring dimensions or steel quality).

Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!
