i agree i think it means more to yourself if you worked hard and payed for it yourself more of a reward for your hard work dont get me wrong tho would be nice if some1 bought me another car

^^ I did that.

Aren't we all too young? Or at least we feel that way when we're in our Zeds.

I'm only 16, but I feel like 16.

^^^is completely full of shi!t .

Anyone under the age of 21 or so just doesn't have the experience, JUST IN MY OPINION, or the necessary respect for a vehicle like this to operate it safely. My years in life and career is proof enough of that.

They should work, save their money and buy their first vehicle like I did. It really makes you appreciate the comforts and extra nice things in life.

You simply CANNOT appreciate it without first having earned it.

But, at 38 years of age, bear in mind I was raised with corporal punishment - thank God - as well as proper rewards for a job well done, and have a healthy respect for my parents, elders and my country, something sorely lacking in today's youngsters.

So, if you are 16, DID they buy it for you? Just curious since you brought the subject up.

Me either until now . Don't worry zednik, I know the hidden treasures older men have . Oddly enough, I am actually enjoying getting older. The older I get, the more I appreciate life and my freinds and family. The little things just aren't as important anymore, and I am liking it. I don't care about wrinkles and a few extra pounds - it's all irrelevant in the end.
What matters to me is how many people I helped. Did I make a postive difference in people's lives? If I can die knowing I did those things, nothing else matters.

The funny thing is, when people ask me how I can afford it on a teacher's sallary, I just smile and say "It's a gift from my Mom", which is true in a way. I'd tell the story, but you'd all need tissues for the tears.
Funny thing about the word sir...I hear it all the time from people who are much older than me. Never gets un-wierd.

It's a good thing you do when you consider the alternative

I gave up on not liking birthdays a long time ago and decided another year above the ground is worth celebrating.

FWIW - I am the same age as zednik.

Hey - no worries.... I am much younger than you and also younger than Fire-n-Ice!

I also get called 'sir' and sometimes by people in their 60's and 70's. I guess I can be overbearing

For the thread and on-topic - there is nothing wrong with your parents buying you a BMW. Enjoy it if they do. Heck - I wish my dad had bought me a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano! http://www.599gtbfiorano.com/fwe/events/F599/index.jsp

Try being a LITTLE older than 21... and yeah. Just imagine what you could do with all that extra cash if you didn't have that girl friend...
