Missing Hood Bracket?

Hey Guys,

I was getting clear bra installed on my car today (which looks awesome) and I noticed an odd hole in my hood with nothing there.

It's a threaded hole that is just left of the center catch bracket. It seems like there should be another locking mechanism there, but call me crazy.

Looking down to the female receiver on by frame, it doesn't look like the typical bracket you see on the left and right side.

I'll snap pictures tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone else noticed the same thing.

I tried looking up on RealOEM.com and can't come to a solid conclusion.

I thought the same thing, then I checked two CPOs at the local BMW dealer and both had the open hole same as mine.

You have the new. '05 is the old. Look at the hood real.oem on your car and a '05 hood on that.
I put a hex screw in color in the hole of the hood.
I had the item on the side was gray zinc on mine. I powder coated it in matte black with black screws.
I'll show a pic soon.

I happen to have an extra screw for the latch, and some touchup paint. That's a great idea. Thanks.

Non-///M Z4's have the locking latch in the center. ///M's have two locking latches on each side of the hood.

Looks like they used the same structural members for the Z4 and Z4M's hoods but just changed the exposed sheet metal.

This was the first thing I noticed when I picked up my ///M. When I parked both cars side by side, I noticed several subtle differences.

The new non-M's and M's have each side of the hood.

All the hoods show 24.25 lb. (Aluminum)
