Supercharged M coupe VS 997 Carrera S
Lets say the M coupe has ESS supercharger kit 400 whp with kwv3 light weight track wheels and everything else remain stock vs a stock Carrera S which one would you take.
Keep in mind u don't have to drive them everyday they are just for a joy rides. Beside the my curiousity of whether which one is more fun I am also curious about how does the carrera handle compares to our M. I ve never driven a carrera before so just wondering... |

Id say the M is more fun and looks better.
Carrera are so boring to me.

I have never driven a 997 Carrera S either or a Z4-M with a ESS Blower.
It's my bet that so few on here would have driven a M Coupé with an ESS supercharger kit to make a fair comparison I don't think you will get many knowledgeable or unbiased replies.

Anyways it would really intersting if someone who has owned or driven a carrera can chime in on this. I never had a chance to drive one, however my friend has a 997c2s but its an auto so i never bothered to ask. |

i feel like the Z4M is most closely related to the GT3. They both are NA......Rear wheel drive.......6 speed......lightweight........wide rear wheel arches
except the Z4M just needs about 150 more hp. |

as much as i LOVE my m coupe, i would take the gt3 without a doubt.. Even if the m was supercharged.... You would be silly not to.. Carrera S and Supercharged M Coupe.... i dk, i would have to drive both to dtermine that.

I don't noe man Personally i wont trust edmund's number on the weight of the cars. Even edmund's zero to sixty time is way too high. So i don't trust them on anything really. From the official porsche site though 997 GT3 is 1395kg which is about 3080lb and the gt3 rs is 50 lb lighter so 3031. Offically from bmw the M coupe is 1450kg which is 3200lb so its about 100 to 200lb heavier than the gt3 or gt3 rs. Its not 300lb as i said but 200lb is still a big diffence.

Options supposedly make a big difference on our cars as well - supposedly adding the premium package adds over 100lbs, mostly due to the heated power seats. A "stripper" M Coupe weighs under 3100lbs, or so I've heard. Mine has only bluetooth and BMWassist so I'm curious to get it weighed.
At the end of the day though, I'd take a GT3 over my car any day of the week. A regular 997 though? No thanks, I'd keep my M.

I'd take the M over a 911 any day, even the illustrious GT3. But I'm biased and probably stupid, however, I'll concede that I'd take a GT2 over my M

But yeah 1450kgs is not what i consider a lightweight coupe, i would love if Porsche went GT3 on a M coupe. That would be one amazing car.

I wouldt opt for the ///M coupe.
I have raced 3 Carrera S (pre facelift) and dropped them all in my standard M coupe. So the supercharged M must just be superfast. |
