2007 BMW Z4 M Roadster, 30,xxx miles - $26,995
Selling my 2007 Z4 M Roadster due to lack of garage space now that our oldest child is driving. I purchased this car in August of 2012 from a local dealership. It had 22,xxx miles on it; it currently has 30,xxx miles. I was searching all over for a pristine Z4 M Roadster and just didn't feel good about some of the cars out there. I do not wrench on my own cars so I wanted one that was in great shape. When I stumbled on my Z at a Twin Cities-area dealer, I jumped on it. No, I didn't get a great deal (they knew what they had), but the car was in terrific shape and I had to have it after the first/only test drive. I bought it on the spot and haven't regretted it since. Since purchasing it 8/12 I have only driven it about 3,500 miles/year during warm months. I've waxed it 3-4 times/summer and wash it just about every week during driving season. When it's not in my garage, or being driven by me, it's parked in an underground executive garage - not a door ding on her. I did take it to one track day Summer of 2013. Before taking it to the track I had the car inspected and prepped by Imola Motorsports in the Twin Cities (they're awesome). While I had a blast at the track I haven't been back because a) it's a 3 hour drive away and I just don't have that much free time; and b) I felt guilty driving this beautiful machine that hard. I know it can take it...I get it...but I still felt bad about it. I wanted to preserve this car and keep it in great shape. Other than the one track day all it's seen from me is a little spirited driving now and then. According to the dealer there were 4 owners before me; the last guy was a local attorney who traded it in for an SUV as he was expecting his first child. If you're like me, you're thinking..."4 owners?!" (5 now.) All I can tell you is that the car is practically flawless inside and out. And the car averaged 3,500 miles/year so it seems pretty obvious that the car was a Summer toy for previous owners. I have no idea if anyone tracked it before me, but considering how nice the car was when I bought it, and it was still a stock set up, I'm thinking it was just a fun weekend toy. Below are the details. I always do my best to be very candid in describing anything I sell, as I like to be treated the same way. So you'll see a few minor things that could be addressed by a super-duper-anal owner if you like, otherwise this car is in great shape. BASICS: * 2007 BMW Z4 M Roadster * VIN: 5UMBT93557LY53011 * Color/Exterior: Black sapphire metallic * Color/Interior: Black extended Nappa leather * Original MSRP: $57,595 * Production date: Oct., 2006 * In-service date: May 18, 2007 * Mileage when purchased: 22,110 * Mileage as of 8/14: 30,xxx OPTIONS: * Premium package (ZPP) * Xenon headlights (auto) * Heated seats * Extended leather * OEM alarm * Air conditioning (ice cold!) * Cruise control * Headlight washer system (annoying, but it works!) * Auto-dimming mirror with Homelink buttons, rain sensor * Power seats with 3 pos. memory for driver MODS * RPI exhaust. Love this exhaust! And I'm in my early 40's...not a 20-something kid who loves to wake up the neighbors. I do find that I need to leave my subdivision in 3rd gear doing 25 mph to keep the sound down. * Short shifter (non-lighted) * Arc EC-7 wheels. OEM wheels sold with car. * CDV delete * BMW custom fit cover MINOR ISSUES * RPI exhaust tips are not perfect, some minor discoloration on the larger exhaust pipes. I usually just wash these tips when washing the car and they get 90% clean. But if you're a perfectionist you may want to take some SS cleaner to them. I purchased them used so I never really worred about it. * Front fangs are NOT dinged up, but it's an original bumper on a car with 30,xxx miles so there are a few (few!) tiny dings/nicks. Again, you'd really have to look hard to find them, but if you're anal about perfection on a car then consider getting the bumper re-sprayed. Let's put it this way, I've never felt the need to go to the BMW dealer and get touch up paint to correct anything on the bumper. The worst thing I think my M bumper has hit is a big mosquito. ;-) My research shows the car is worth ~$30k without the mods, which ran a bit over $2k. PM me for more info or for the CarFax report (score=93). Last edited by strokeoluck; 08-19-2014 at 09:09 AM.. |

Thanks. I actually installed the wheels and RPI because I loved the looks and sound, but I will admit I wanted to get them installed before the track day.

No worries, I figured that would be the case. I applaud your passion for rebuilding your car! Hopefully I can keep mine intact and sell it all together - would make my life a little easier. ;-)

A few questions for you Zpost veterans...
1) Is there a way for me to change the TITLE of my post? It currently indicates the asking price is $31,900, but that's been reduced and I'd like to reflect that new price. 2) Why is there Chinese gibberish in the LOCATION field, and how do I edit that? 3) What are your thoughts on the best sites to list a car like this? I'm in no big rush to sell, but my Dad piqued my interest the other day when he said people in the warmer states are still buying stuff on sites like Ebay and CarSoup. I guess I've been so bogged down with work, travel, family stuff and now prepping everything (including the car) for the winter season...I never thought about it. I just prepped the car for winter storage inside my garage, put the cover on, and was going to forget about it until Spring. 4) Any idea what it costs to list a car on Ebay or CarSoup? Yes, I know I could probably research it, but if you guys have rough numbers to list a car for a few weeks, that would be great. Thanks! |

autotrader i believe is 65-70ish for a "run it until it sells" ad (i believe there was a premium option for around 100 as well).
great looking car, bump for someone to buy it off here! |

The piggy bank was squealing pretty loudly when I gave it a shake to see if this might be possible now LOL!! But if you still have the car to sell in the spring, I may have a different story. Lovely car!!

Thanks guys, I'll check out those websites. I'm sure it won't sell till Spring, which is fine, but I may list it just for sh*ts and giggles.
BTW, the white building in the pictures is Prince's Paisley Park recording studios (and mini-concert venue). The photographer noticed the security gate was open that Saturday morning as we were looking for some good spots, and we just drove in and snapped the pics. |

That is a great looking car, but I will be surprised if you get $30K for it. I paid $29K for my '06 MR in 2009 with 9500 miles on the clock. I hope I am wrong and my car is still worth what I paid for it! GLWS
