Can't wait to hear what the oil leak is. There's just so many things the tech could have screwed up I won't even guess. I hate always being right about how idiotic dealership techs can be.

Get the invoice and post it or PM it to me please, I want to see what they did.

What a nightmare. I feel for you man.

Stories like this make me pretty iffy about buying extended warranty when mine runs out. Even if I don't have to pay for it, it just seems like dealerships can't help but bumble up your car when they're working on it.

Hope you get a new engine out of all this.

The invoice parts will tell some.

You should post the invoice here so people can see what they did.
And you can learn too.

Not a dealership so I wouldn't call myself a tech, but I work on BMWs, fast ones, a lot.

What is he going to use those needle nose pliers for?

But it's just something that is a poor habit and should not be done.

I do it on my own car but not customers cars.

Additionally, this is an 8k rpm engine with HUGE piston speeds (as in it needs to be balanced properly, not that it hit at high speeds), weather it not it was "damaged" it was struck by a valve, the integrity of it is something to question.

BMW might not warrant the replacement, but he should at least try.

I don't even want to know what he's needing those needle nose pliers for...
I am literally laughing out loud. O-cha, you were right.

OP, sorry for all your troubles. Hope you get your car fixed properly.
