IAT relocate
I see that Turner has come out with a plug & play IAT relocate harness to help with heat soak at the MAF.
Harness would be a clean alpha-N install as well. https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-3...rness/?pdk=AgM Has anyone done this ? ....other sources?

Much better solution than hacking apart the maf sensor. Now if only those CF boxes would come down in price, they're just using molds anyways... should be cheaper :P lol

Karbonius is a great one, considered it but they were way behind on production a year or two ago when I was looking into it and the estimated turn around time was 6 months to a year. Might be better now though.

Damn, that's a long lead time for sure...I really want one but have trouble justifying it, as at this stage I should be doing cams next. But sexy sounds have another type of allure.

Id suggest doing cams and CSL air box in one go, that way you knock out both in the one tune.

TMS just started advertising this part in their email blasts and I think that's where most are hearing about it for the first time.
This should be a tremendous value for people that take their "stock intake" cars to the tracks every now and then. Also people in TX, Vegas, etc. should benefit in summer cause the heat soak is super annoying. Ask me how I know... For $100, I'm ordering this next paycheck and installing on my Zed. I won't be putting one in my E46 M3 track car for now cause I plan to do full CSL Intake, Cams, Etc. down the road... |

Speaking of air-boxes, I wish someone would knock one out in fibreglass. If my memory serves me right, that was done with the E30 M3 airbox and was reasonably priced = cheap and worked. I'd hazard a guess that those that are just looking for performance, wouldn't give a crap about the look, as long as the function and quality of fitment and workmanship was there.
And given that there's a crap-load of S54 motors everywhere, I'm surprised this hasn't been done yet.......... or has it ? Ok, nevermind. A little searching shows that it's been done before........... surprised it hasn't become mainstream and we see more of them. http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showp...6&postcount=54 Last edited by tominizer; 03-23-2017 at 08:01 AM.. |
