I seem to recall that Ron Stygar figured out all the ins and outs of installing something like this on his Z4M and described it over on Bimmerfest sometime last year.

Module will have dual switching inputs - this is definitely possible.

Likely with a BMW TV tuner (now obsolete with the analog to digital switch), but costs can be well over $1K for parts alone - minus the camera assembly.

this has been done by a few members more than a year ago. Search and you may be able to find the posts. I installed mine a year ago using a module I bought online and a rear camara from ebay. Total cost was less than $300.

Depends, we have been using this type of camera for years as it has a perfect track record and low LUX resolution for night viewing.

The same one as in that link?
Or are you talking about the one you guys sell (the bumblebee)

I'm just wondering, How exactly does it stay in the keyhole? Doesn't look like there is anything holding it

How does it know that the car is put in reverse?

Ohh, what might be really cool is an IR/night vision camera for the front!
