Opinions on Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tire
I have been hearing good things about the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tires. Does anyone here have any experience with them? Some have compared their performance to Michelin ps2's.

So that means they're slightly above average ?
PS2s were top shit a few years back, but there are much better tires for much better prices now. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...mparison_tests I'd say a decent percentage of us run the Direzza StarSpecs in 245/40-18 front and 275/35-18 rear which works perfectly fine on a stock setup and offer fantastic performance.

Bridgestone Potenza RE11Rs are also phenomenal tires with comparable performance to the Star Specs. I ran their predecessor, the RE01Rs, for quite some time and was amazed by their performance.
I've heard good things about the Vredestein's, though. But I don't think they offer anywhere near as good of performance as the new "extreme" performance tires they're putting out these days.

I have PS2 on my z4m and I have vredestein on my 330 conv (performance package). Sidewall seems much stronger on the V. the V also tramlining also a lot on our BAD quebec road. if you have the $$, go with PS2. so smooth.

The Vredestein tires are supposedly really good, and because they're basically unknown in the US, you can get them cheap. I'm gonna try a set out when it's time for new tires.

I had the Vred's on my SRT-8. VERY popular in that community. Compared to the rest of the competition for those rides, the Vred's blew them away. They made my Goodyear Eagle F-1 Supercar's look like a huge POS. Couldn't be beat in the rain either (Vancouver, BC here).
Bank for the buck these couldn't be beat. Check out Fairmont Tire in LA. Happy to know these may be an option on my 08 Z4MC? |

I have a set of Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta for my M3... The price is extremely honest and the ride is very smooth... It grips a lot and it lasts much more than my previous Pirelli PZero Rosso. Definitely a good buy! You'll definitely find good reviews on other forums about Vredesteins.

The Vreds are very popular with European Z4Ms. I have them on mine after reading so many good things about them on Z4-forum.com. They replaced a set of the stock Continental M3's.
At first i wasnt too impressed. OK they were much cheaper than both the Continentals and the Michelin's but while they offered slightly more grip than stock they had a noticeably "softer" feel. They were a bit more comfortable as a result but the car didnt feel as direct as it did before. After a thousand or so miles though they scrubbed in nicely and felt much better. Playing around with the tire pressures also reduced that soft feeling a lot. I run them at slightly higher than stock pressures and they feel great. Lots of grip and in my opinion, controllable break away. The only downside i've found is that they wear easily. I've had a complete set for about 6 months now and while the fronts have worn very little the rears are close to bald now.... Then again i am very childish and have a heavy right hoof.. Please note that the car is on stock suspension and suspension settings and that i do not track my car (no tracks in Cyprus sadly) and i have not tried the Michelin's. I do drive the car very hard though and i do lengthy mountain road runs at least once a week. I've also never experienced them in the wet (yes it hasnt rained once since Easter.. :P ) Overall i am very pleased with them and will get another set of rears to replace my worn ones in a couple of days. Almost half the price of the Contis and better performance. Sounds good to me.

tire pressure was always big difference with mine as well. Pays to play around a bit w/them. Good to hear someone's tried em. The think i liked about them in Van was the performance in the rain, which is all the time. I may source a set out for my Z too.
