Run-Flat Recommendations

My '04 3.0i Z4 is scheduled to arrive on Friday and needs new tires pretty-much ASAP. I've been following the threads on Michelin Pilot Super Sports, which sound like phenomenal tires, but just realized (while ordering a set with TireRack) that they aren't run-flats.

Since I'm not entirely comfortable travelling without a spare I think I want to stick to run flats. Can I get some suggestions? Do Pilot Sport PS2s really suck that badly?

Help. I need to order by COB tomorrow to have them to my mechanic for installation on Monday.

Okay, I did some research and now realize that there are ways to prevent being stranded due to a flat (e.g. Conti-Comfort kit, Slime Tire Repair Kit) and with my horizons now expanded I think I'm punting on run-flats.

What are the thoughts on these repair kits though? And yes I know about possible TPS sensor damage.

-And-

With mostly street use are Pilot Super Sports overkill? Or put another way are they worth 1/3 more than V12s??

Any info is greatly appreciated!!

AAA > runflats. Get real tires and use AAA to tow you if you get a flat.

This is going to be a very short thread.

Just talked to Jake at TireRack who talked me out of run-flats, spoke very highly of V12s and sold me a set along with a Conti Comfort kit. Total price with shipping was $758.

I also checked - I've got roadside assistance with my auto policy.

What is a conti comfort kit?

I've had pss' on my car for a few months now - even with mostly casual city driving, I love them, and don't think I could ever go back.

Conti Comfort Kit = Peace of mind when you're not carrying a spare.

2004 Z4 = No TPS, uses the ABS to sense a wheel/tire not rotating at teh same speed, or something like that....

ShakyDog is correct. No need to worry about TPMS.

Awesome. Now if the $*$%&! transport company would just deliver my car I could get these new tires installed.
