e9x M3 is actually 245/35/19 stock for the front. So does this mean that to run those rims without rubbing on stock suspension setup i have to run skinnier tires ? or with a decent amount of negative camber, maybe with the pins pulled i can get it to fit without rubbing on the fender liner?

Also, your blacked out headlights look sweet, do they just have a film of tint on them ?

Hey good spot I don't know why I thought that they were 245/40/19. You are indeed correct that they are 245/35/19. I am pretty sure you can get away with -1.5 (how much you can get with the pins pulled) and I am totally sure you can get away with -1.9 (how much you can get with a slight drop).

Head lights are the lamin-x smoke film. it is so weird how it look a different darkness in every picture.

I notice you are from Barrie.... I lived there for the past 4 years.

The film looks great, looking at that last pictures i thought u actually had the backs of the headlights painted from silver to black.

And yes i am from Barrie, i have heard some things about you and your brother. Oh, and i am taking the Auto Management program at Georgian there as well, you took the same program did you not ?

Yep I took the Auto Management Program at Georgian! A chick friend of mine that goes there said she spotted a IR MC on campus and I was thinking that since your MC is IR and you are in Barrie that it must be you. Do you track the car at all?

Yup, that was me on campus, in 47000 miles the car has never seen track though... YET, but i am really wanting to take it out... when i finish this final year of school and have more time on my hands I'll definitely give it a go.

I am glad we found out the 19's work. How about the 18's?! I've looked and looked but nothing yet. And does anyone have weights for these wheels?

If the 19s work i don't see any reason why the 18s would not. They are still the same width and offset.

F: 8.5" wide ET:29
R: 9.5" wide ET:23

As for weight BMWs "claimed" numbers, the 18s are:
F: 11.05 kg (24.36 lbs)
R: 11.75 kg (25.90 lbs)

The 19s claimed weight:
F: 10.7 kg (23.59 lbs)
R: 11.4 kg (25.13 lbs)

As a point of reference our stock rims claimed weight for cars built until 12/07:
F: 12.15 kg (26.79 lbs)
R: 13.65 kg (30.09 lbs)

Cars built after 12/07:
F: 12.0 kg (26.46 lbs)
R: 13.3 kg (29.32 lbs)

Again, these are the "official" numbers according to BMW, and real life weight might be slightly different, but it still gives you a good reference.

Yes, 18" and 19" have the same offset and width. 19" is forged whereas 18" is cast.

Dude you have got to get that car on the track! It is like having a GF and not sleeping with her. Yeah they are nice to look at and fool around with but the real fun is in the sack. I have tracked this car since the day I got it and I now pity that I did not track my last BMW. I wasted all that time I could have been on track getting better. I am sure you can find a wednesday night to head down to Cayuga and drop $60 on some lapping.

These weights are of course not correct unless you are using a different scale. Stock wheels are mid 20lb range. 18's are better for the track in my opinion. More tire options, less weight, lower cost, faster car.

This is a known pattern that has been going on for decades in the USA and Europe. The Z4M came with what the designers thought was a good looking wheel. Sad to say its not a good looking wheel, regardless of what a lot of people think.

Getting back to the original post I must say the 19 inch wheels appear to not be that heavy at all. I was very surprised. The Z4M 18s seem to be heavier.
Huh? Since when has how good something looks turned into an objective matter?

Remember that opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one, and they all stink.
