help me tried fix my nav system
hello to everyone.
When i bought my Z4, the nav LCD doesn't worked well, something was broken in the mechanism that rises and down the LCD. I had to use the hands to lift the Lcd, but the screen and everything else worked well (gps, trip computer, stereo, etc) I disassembled and tried to fix the mechanism with some epoxy. But I forgot where I should put an 1 wire harness connector. There are 2 similar conectors but I dont know where I must put it. Other fact, I already assembled the LCD and install in my Z4, but when I turn On, the nav lcd doesnt work . The screen doesn't turn on, the lcd doens't rise . |

Well the circuit board connectors are diffrent, they have a "notch" in the opposite end so it would seem you can only connect it the correct way. Does the connector have a notch extruding from it?

I'm looking at selling my nav system - whole or parted out. It's in great condition. I drive 2008 Z4MR.

While they may fit in both, I think you'll find they click into only one. You can see that each female fitting has a notch on the side that is opposite each other.
The male should also have a side notch. But the female will click onto the male when inserted the correct way (I hope). Maybe try one connector in each, then tug on it. The one that's harder to remove the male from should be the correct one. But I haven't taken this apart myself so it's only a guess. good luck

NAV -opening mechansim
About every other time I start the car, the NAV screen will make an attempt to open but fail, and then keep trying until I hit the screen close button. Get's rid of the annoying bobbing, but defeats the purpose for having the screen :-).
Anyone else experienced this or have thoughts on the matter? Thanks Bruce |
