Thats a BMW OEM product all right, I can tell by the price tag.
And it came with my car 2004 sport package.
I didnt like that it covered the roll bars so I went DIY on it -http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=307269

So, I finally followed all the links and read up on the acrylic vs. mesh windscreen. I love the look for the BMW Mesh Windscreen II but for $500+??? No way. I'll just buy the acrylic windscreen since I don't have the time for the DIY.

I have the acrylic from RoadsterSolutions and I am very happy with it. A good friend and Mercedes owner, who had not seen my car previously, commented yesterday that he thought it was factory, not aftermarket. It does look very good IMO, and of course is very functional.

Here you go:

http://www.roadstersolutions.com/page69.html

I should note that I almost bought the Roadster Solutions unit, but I got a great deal on the BMW OEM unit at a sale price of around $400 shipped from BMW Cleveland. It was around November as I recall. Dunno if they are having another sale on them this year.

Cheers!

I just picked up a second hand leather/mesh windblocker, but I have no idea how to install it. Where do the clamps attach?

Yes, it's expensive, but you can save some money buying the parts from a discounted source like Tischer.

Just keep in mind that you've got a really nice car. Don't buy something you'll forever be looking back on and think it's OK, but the car would have looked better with the other one. If you like the look of the factory unit better, don't 'settle' for the sake of saving a few dollars - it only hurts once, take it from someone who went throught the same ...
