Ripp off mechanics in NYC....

Does it really take 7 hours plus to replace an oem clutch!?
7 x 85.00 plus tax is stupid...

I can do this work myself i just dont have a lift, and im pretty sure you need one for the clutch part and the ssk part....

They might say it takes 7 hours by standards, but it doesn't really take "them" 7 hours. An experienced mechanic can usually do it in half the standard quoted time, since they are paid on the standard amount of time and not what it really took them. So if the guy does it in 3 to 4 hours he just made an extra 3 to 4 hours worth of labor, but if it takes longer he loses money. You can always negotiate the labor time. Hope that helps.
