I think; most people like a small lip spoiler and can be installed with just tape. The difference will really be FG vs CF in material and pricing. CF doesn't need to be painted but some will like to paint match the FG. I'll be checking on pricing on both and get back.

Lots of curve on this trunk. The design is the toughest and most rewarding part of this project.

Can you post the weblink for the rear undertray unit you've installed?

Sure, here you go:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-Z4-Z4M-R...tUsA2K&vxp=mtr

No affiliations with the seller here. It's just a simple piece, what you see is what you get. I didn't want to go down the $2k AC diffuser road again, so I settled on this. I like it, gives a little bit of umph to the rear without looking too ridiculous. Cheap too, so no big deal if you buy it/don't like it.

Have the same one. Exactly what Nicky said. Here's a shot from a different angle.

UPDATE 1

Working a little bit slower since the design took a little longer than expected. Many discussions took place since we wanted to give the E85 a more updated look. We felt the E85's design line in 2003, one of the most timeless design of modern BMW, is still very "IN" in today's car scene. By referencing the current MPE design language on the F-Series and add E85's trunk contour, this is what it might look like. The poll did give us a good start. Pictures on progress!

1.

2.

3.

The design on how the spoiler meets the trunk edge is still up in the air. The spoiler that sits on top with a little bit of inset or let it over lap the edge are both aesthetic and ease of installation concern. Once the design is finalised, the rest will just be production and test fit. We are quite excited with this project.

the spoiler sitting on top of the trunk creating a double deck effect (like all the current M2/3/4 MPE spoiler)
or
have the lip over lap the trunk edge a bit (without covering the 3rd brake) for one piece look?

The general shape will be similar to the picture above.

comments welcome.

Not a fan of the lip just sitting on the top, but I do like the one that overlaps the edge a little bit. Both look great but I think the one that goes over the edge looks a little better.

I should have both FG and carbon fiber in hand next week or so for a photo shoot. Just been travelling lots for work during the summer months. I can only do 10 a batch each production run and I'll start another thread with a list to gauge interest which to produce first.

thank you for the interest.
