It's not my mid life crisis

So, my wifes 280 SLK after two transmissions, water pump, hydralics of the roof, shifter, decided the the head gasket was next. After 3 mechanics told me that they would not work on the car I decided time to cut bate. I found a bright red 2006 3.0 i with 34,000 and a warrentee until 4-12 in perfect shape. My wife never seeing a Z4, I brought the car home to OMG... OMG...it's flashy. We love the car, me a little, no a lot more than her. Like driving a go cart on steriods. Great web blog! Thanks,

I get a kick out of all the great stories that led us all to the Z! Boxster's on fire, Benz's blowing head gaskets, etc!! Makes me proud to have gotten on the bangwagon... For me, I had a TT before my '04 Z4 and I swear it was in the shop more than I drove it for a whole 4 months. Finally one day when nothing was wrong, I drove it to BMW and found my car and never looked back!! LOL!

For the record my wife is still shaking her head too... truthfully I think she left me and is just projecting a holographic image of herself telling me all about my "mid life crisis".... haha.

The Boxster was fun in a different way. But it was a set of tires filled with $ with a slow leak.

What continues to astound me is how afordble and practical these cars are.

Recall my car is a 2007 CPO. I still have almost 2 years of warranty left on it.

Cost: Same as a new Mustang or Camero
Warranty: Almost as long. (BMW is probably more reliable even starting at 30k miles)
Insurance: Cheaper on the Z4 Roadster
Gas: About the same
Tires: No more than my old Celica if you go with standard tires, which I intend on doing.

And then there's the luggage room! I am amazed at how much stuff I can fit back there! I'm a guitar player. I can haul two guitars, an amp head, a small 2x10 cabinet, and my FX pedal bag with lots or room to spare!

And the return on my investment is amazing!!! I continue to get those jealous looks. People act as if I'm a millionaire or something! LOL!

Got my certified 2007 BMW Z4 M Coupe (blue) a couple months ago with 21,300 miles. I currently have 23,500 miles on it as I use it daily. Fantastic car, excellent build quality, great engine and exhaust note above 4K rpm.

THIS was my last setup.
I don't have a picture of my new setup yet. But basically, I replaced allot of the individual FX with an RP1000. I still have the Damage Control Womanizer.

Thanks man!

P.S. Not as complicated as it looks.

P.P.S. I guess we'd better return to topic or someone will think -->

Hi everyone,

I jumped here from the X1 forum.
I have recently bought an X1 to make a real friend with the monster in the pictures.

- 2003 3.0i
- all options except the front bumper camera
- strelin grey with black leather and black softtop
- front and back signal lights changed with after 05 parts

I digged the Z4 forum and found quite useful info especially about the nav.
Thanks

Taylan

Hi

HI... Just ordered a 2011 Z4.
just love the lines and performance.
Are there any Z4 clubs, cruise in's, etc in the area for Z4's?
I see you are in the Fl. Panhandle also.

Hi,

I picked up a Black/Black 07 Z4M Roadster with all options in June. Initially, I was only looking at 2.5 in March then price kept dropping on the roadster. I made a few extra bucks over the summer, then I was looking at 3.0si 2006+ and even went test drive a few. Through a friend, I found my ride that cost the same as a 07 3.0si that I almost bought but it's an M with all options.
So I picked that up in a heartbeat and have been doing small mods since.

It's a weird feeling that I'm back to BMW M cars again (usded to mod my E36 M3 in 97) after 13 years driving various FI cars and sworn not going back to NA again.

The roadster is pretty solid and had my fun in the summer so far. The forum is great and I've been reading and learning lots.
