RPI scoop on the e85 3.0i?
Okay, so maybe i haven't searched hard enough, BUT does the RPI scoop for the Z4M fit on my pre-facelift (2003) 3.0 without any modification? I emailed Eloy @ RPI and he confirmed that he personally had never fit one on such a car, but noted that he knows people who have. However, he said that he didnt know if it required any modification; hence my question. Please help out a noob!

Hey i have an 04 3.0i and I have the scoop, it'll fit, there's no difference between the M and non M car where the scoop goes.

Awesome. That's what i wanted to hear. Did you notice any sort of performance increase at all? About half the posts Ive read claim power increase, but the general consensus is that it get you better mpgs.

To be honest you wont feel or notice a power increase, gas mileage was improved but nothing to write home about. It just allows more air to flow more free into the intake channel/plenum. Now if you have a CAI then you will notice a little more of both, but again, its not a huge gain!

I posted up a rant about the prices of BMW parts, got crucified for it but that's what ever. If you feel you wanna pay that much, for what ever, then go for it! Its all about personal choice!
A CAI would make it sound a whole lot better, Ill get mine soon, but I R a cheap ass! Haha good luck man! |

They are expense, but well, that's what you get for owning a BMW! You pay more for the R&D. I'm stepping up from a 99' VW TDI so i definitely feel the pinch lol.
