I voted for the hardtop, which I would have gotten if I hadn't gone with a coupe - hardtops are always a very popular sought-after options after you can no longer get one. Z3 owners scrounge for them endlessly, 911 cab owners wish they'd got one, and E-type owners pay thru the nose for them. If you're keeping your car a while, it's a solid investment, even with the hassle of storing it.

Other thoughts:

On paint - speaking of long-term value, a non-original repaint is one of the worst things you can do to a car. Track down whoever got the ONE carbon black M coupe sold in the US and get them to sell.

On gears, I went with Dinan and wish I'd just had my original diff rebuilt. Based on the noises I'm starting to hear, I'm about to get my 3rd Dinan diff in ~7k miles, though I'm hoping they'll just cover having it rebuilt by someone local. The warranty is nice, the hassle, not so much. Go with diffsonline and a quality shop for half the money.

On FI - decide now if you're going this route because if you do, you don't want 4.10s, from what I've heard.

Hardtop looks terrible IMO. Like a complete after-thought that doesnt fit right. Go with gears. 3.91's if u ever plan on supercharging down the road. I voted S/C tho.
