Grip &turn the antenna not the base.

So many of us have bought one that you can probably use it to identify z4um and zpost members on the street!

Hmmm... sounds like a brilliant idea. Instead of the standard website stickers, there should be stubby antennas with the website imprinted on them! I'll take one!

I got it to unscrew, I didn't realize the antenna unscrewed from the base like that. I thought the whole assembly had to come out. Easy swap then, cant wait to get mine =]

Got mine from Mangowalk today. Perfect fit, looks great, I didn't realize how excessively large the OEM antenna was until I saw the before and after. Now to see how the FM signal is tomorrow.

You should be checking out your AM signal.

Well I dont ever use AM so that's not important to me at all. FM doesn't seem to be diminished at all. Probably attributed to the FM transmitter in the bumper as mentioned above. Great "mod" looks good from what I can see out of my driver side mirror.

I don't use either FM or AM radio, so the most important feature to me was exactly this point - I like what I see in the rear view mirror

AM reception doesn't seem affected, at least in my case.
