Is this rasp pipe compatible with our car?

Do you think this piece would replace our secondary cats? I'm sure you can add 90* oxygen sensor bungs to it. Or am I an idiot??

rofl, I AM an idiot

I don't like the strong rasp I hear when my exhaust valves are open and I'm heavy on the throttle + I'm sure we can gain 10-20rwhp by replacing the cats with a freeflow muffler

here's the link

I'm curious if you get a similar benefit from removing the secondary cats as you do from losing the primary cats when changing headers?

Meaning leaving the stock headers but losing those in section 1. I know that the header route isn't just losing the cats, they also flow better, but can't the same be said for section 1?

From what I've learned the closer to the engine you are, the more you'll gain from freeing up the flow. So you won't pick up the same power as losing the stock header cats on a normally aspirated car, but on a supercharged car, it counts

im with you on this!! i really think the FI guys will win on this....ive been really debating picking up a supersprint decat pipe, wonder how loud it would be???

http://www.supersprint.com/en/prod-c..._kit_r__l.aspx

it would be a pain in the butt to having to keep swapping them for the smog test.

The flange between the section 1 & 2 in the E46 m3 section 1 don't have the same orientation as the Z4M section 1 flange. So it won't fit directly unless you cut the pipe, rotate and weld at the correct orientation the triangle flange.

I am looking to do the same thing on my car. I have 2 E46 M3 oem section 1 at home, i will keep the two straight pipe and weld the flange to fit the Z4M section 2 and also add some bungs.

I can sell the other 2 pipes with resonator and fit the flange and bungs if someone is interested.

It might not be clear but I will take pics in a week when I will come back from vacation.

so other than the mounting triagle orientation, which needs to be rotated, you're saying it should fit?
