Seriously... WHAT THE HELL!?
As most of you know, my M was in the shop for the past month from when I was rear-ended, and on Friday I got it back. Got to enjoy it this weekend - went for a cruise with some buddies (they're on E90post and M3post).
I took it out after work last night and was on the freeway, approaching my exit so I slide from the center lane to the right lane. See a flash of movement to my right and the next thing I know the car gets slammed on the passenger side. I hit the brakes (hard), the back-end wiggles and I already know what happened. Pull off and call the police. Have an accident report written up for getting hit by a deer. Yes, 72 hours after getting my car back from the shop, it's once again damaged. Damage to the passenger fender, door, quarter-panel, and the mirror basically exploded. The deer hit me right where the side-marker is just behind the front wheels. Educational bit of info: Our mirrors have what's basically a safety teather running through them. So if they do get hit, they just dangle from the side of the car.

Damn dude, that just sucks. I'm sure me living in the mountains of tennessee, i'm positive i'll have a run in with a deer and it better hope it's dead cause i'm gonna beat the s.o.b with my bare hands until it is dead. Cops will show up on their own when they hear me cussing up a storm haha.

Oh god no! Atleast your okay...again. I saw this thread and I physically had shivers. I cautiously opened it hoping it wasn't what I feared...but it was. I am so sorry to hear this. Horrible. Atleast it is on record that the deer hit you, not the other way around since that is really important to car insurance companies. This really sucks man. Are you going to take it to the same place?

Sux, been there. A few years back I had a tree fall on my sc400 less then a week after getting it back from being repaired following a rear-ender. Bad luck comes in 3s.

Wow, that sucks. Totally something unexpected. I guess that is why it's called a accident!

That is flippin unbelievable. So sorry to hear that you have her back in the shop. The good news is that's all it is. Hitting a deer can cause a major accident.

Yeah, the GD deer area all over metro Detroit - in places you wouldn't even think deer would be around. I grew up at Woodward and Square Lake, the whole area is my stomping ground. What free way were you on?
And kudos on going back to the same shop. If you were happy with what they did and how they treated you, more than likely they'll feel bad for you with another problem so soon and will continue to do great work for you. I could see them taking some personal interest in you car, something that all to often shops never do, treating each car and customer like a number. See if they know of any medicine men that could come and christen the car after this repair, try to get that demon out of there! |
