Navtool Backup Camera Module on Sale

For those looking to install a backup / reverse camera, the Navtool module is currently on sale until Feb 16th for $200 (half price).

https://www.navtool.com/bmw_Z4_2003-2008.aspx

You'll still need to pick up an actual camera, but this module claims to be plug and play if you have factory nav. I just ordered one, so I will post a review when I eventually receive and install it. Now it's time to hunt for the camera!

Great deal. I have a similar module. It look a long time to install all the wires in a neat way but it works great. Rear View Camera when in reverse, and a manual switch for the front bumper camera. Both cameras are very useful.

Do you remember which cameras you purchased? This is new terrain for me and the options and price points are extensive.

I don't see it on ebay anymore. It's been a couple years. Something like this is pretty good:

Awesome, thank you. How is the night vision on yours? I see a bunch of different cameras on eBay, claiming to be ccd in the title, but then the description indicates cmos. My understanding is that cmos is significantly inferior, compared to ccd at night. Thanks again.

I think my cameras are CMOS. Better ones seem to be available now since I bought a couple years ago. My night vision is decent. Remember it'll never be pitch black because of the cars lights (I also have super bright license plate lights). I don't care about details. I just want to not hit anything. Maybe I will upgrade to the CCD at some point.

Haven't installed mine yet. Waiting for the ice age to end.

Is this module compatible with the stock Nav/DSP sound system? It basically adds a new "button" in the menu for backup camera, forward camera, and DVD right?

What type of quality can we expect from the stock nav screen? I've only seen it put out black/white/orange with blocky font. Is the resolution even high enough to support a backup camera?
