A new hood (primed) is about 1K.

Bodyworked hoods usually carry an additional price of a minimum 250.00-500.00$ I've found.

In this ebay case posted....the repairs alone push it near or above NEW.

Its best to start with new it looks like. The last 5 M-cars parted down all had damaged hoods.

Any hood which requires repair, eg;body work, PDR etc.

Aluminum sheet-metal is far harder to work than mild steel.

would it be too difficult to make a frp one from the damaged one they are selling? I know a guy who wouldnt charge much but I dont know what can be done regarding the skeleton of the hood as the custom frp hood would be just the upper sheet

Making the mold is difficult and time consuming enough without the additional time to get a damaged hood squared back up and ready.

That is why I bought a new (in the box) OEM undamaged hood to start my molds.

Confirmed then. I have no reason to back out. There will be a stock CF hood and then a vented version for track and street. Full bolt on.

I will only be building molds for the M hood. I'm aiming for mid-winter before completion. Lots of projects on the table these days !

they should put "like" as in facebook so I can like your comment christian lol, funny.
btw if the frp one is cheaper than the aluminium one Id buy it. remember that you do find frp hoods for non bimmers for like 300 bucks so having the same price as the oem one may affect sales.still, I think cf ones do manage to cost more than the ones made by bmw, specially if they have a cooler design. just my .2 cents
