Air con and heated rear screen not working. Help required!

On my 2006 Z4 the aircon and heated rear screen won't work. Niether of the two button light up when pressed. Have checked fuses they seem ok and was wondering if anyone out there could help as I don't want to pay a deal a fortune to look at it. Any advise would be greatly appriciated. Alan

The same thing happened to me over the winter, did your battery die recently, and is the original battery still in the vehicle? If so your car is probably in transport mode because the voltage dropped below a certain point, take it to the dealer and they will test the battery and take it out of transport mode. They charged me 1/2 hour labor when I took it in.

Paul hit the nail on the head, you are probably in transport mode. Go to the dealer, its a 10 minute fix.

Key is drive it often, unless your battery is going bad.. I didn't drive mine over the winter, stored in underground garage with no outlet for tender.. battery dead

went in transport mode and had to drive it to the dealer with the interior fogging up

Thank you guys, you were all spot on! Trip to dealers after 30mins car was out of transport mode and everything was working. Best BMW forum out there by far!!!
