2006 Z4M w/Nav disc not working?

Hi. Just picked up a 2006 Z4M with factory NAV which was nice but when dealer gave me the disc (non BMW dealer) the disc wouldn't accept the NAV and said "disc non-compatible; please insert appropriate NAV DVD" or something similar to that. Car has NAV disc/player mounted between seats in section on the rear firewall and disc was BMW NAV-TEQ original disc labeled BMW NA 2007. Any idea why it didn't work? Car was purchased out of state and I couldn't stick around to wait for a new disc and they said they'd order me a proper 2006 one from BMW and ship it to me but what should I expect when it arrives? Does the car need to be updated? I would appreciate a NEW disc with current maps rather than a 2006 one. So options?

Also NAV is very old...what would you guys do? Replace it with an aftermarket flip out unit? Custom install a new double din unit? Or I have a Garmin Nuvi and just use that? One thing I do think is needed is better ipod integration (car has NONE) and Sat radio (I listen to that alot) so I need to find a good intergration that does those both well. Thinking DICE Media-bridge probably does it best, thought?

Appreciate options and assistance here.
Md

I still have my 06 DVD disc. If you are close by, I can let you use it to test it out. It could be your drive or just the computer running an older FW.

Anyone know the part number for the 2011 DVD NAV disc for the Mk4 DVD NAV system? Need to compare with dealer's option/part.
