Bad vibrations with M6 rims
I just installed my M6 wheels and I have really bad vibrations. I took it to the shop and the put in rear hub spacers. They stated the front doesn't need any. I still have vibration and had all 4 wheels balanced a second time. Still have the vibration. I did a 4 wheel alignment and the problem continues. Wondering if anyone has had the same problem? Vibrations start at about 80 mph and last to 120 mph. Responses and suggestions for correcting this would be appreciated.
Thanks! Matt |

I'd check the balancing again ( maybe try a different shop ) or maybe the rims are bent... did you get them new or used ?

Definitely check the hub size and measure it vs the hub size of the vehicle. I remember a few years back the Volk TE37s where listed as being hubcentric, however they where really a few mm off which caused a noticable vibration. Got hub centric rings to correct it and everything was smooth from then on.

Assuming you have the MiRó Style 346 Wheels (M6 Reps), and they're all properly balanced and properly bolted onto the car (i.e. proper torque, star-patterned tightened, etc.), then the problem is most likely due to the hub size for your rear wheels. They are hubcentric to the 5er & 7er but you'll need hub rings for the Z4. You can find them on eBay for cheap ~$12 for a set of 4)
I've never had issues with my reps, but that's because I have the rings on the rears. FWIW the Hub Centric Rings I needed was *72.56mm -74.1mm* Good Luck |
