Question: Wheel Weights
Got to drive 470 miles home from Grattan Raceway without any wheel weights on the front wheels. Heat from the brakes appears to have melted the adhesive out from under them. First time that's happened, but also the first time I've done heavy use of these new wheels and used DTC-60s at the track. I wasn't the only one this happened to either- guy in the garage next to me with a 135 had the same thing happen.
Do I chalk this up to the kind of tape Tire Rack used to balance these wheels, or do I need to take other measures before my next track day? I've heard some folks tape over the weights with aluminum tape.
