New Z4/Supra
Ive read that Toyota wasnt happy about a few details on their new collaboration with BMW and that both vehicles will likely be delayed until approximately October of 2018. Is it me or do you see quite a bit of the E86 Coupe in the renderings of the Toyota? Anyway Im flattered!

If the new Supra were to look like the prototype Toyota FT1 I would be first in line to get one. The FT1 Looks awesome! The Supra looks more weak in my opinion.

There are some user-rendered images on the SupraMKV forums like these below. Again, these are rendered by users at the forum and aren't official. I can definitely see some similarities to the E86, one being the "hockey sticks" , that roof, and the rear.
In my personal opinion, I'm more excited for the Supra over the new Z4 (G29). I love my coupe and I'd always want some form of hard-top on my car. I believe the G29 will only come as a soft-top. I'm also not entirely in love with how the G29 looks.

If this is what it will look like , ill be in line right behind you. If the Z4 looks like the current rendering on the main intro page, then its as ugly as sin and I wouldn't touch one with a 10 foot marine pole.

My next BMW might be a Toyota.

Until the production car is actually revealed, its final production specs disclosed, and the variants have been driven and tested, I think its a wee bit premature to declare it to be a turd.
Just sayin'.

yup agreed Huz, but it aint looking good so far. Those latest pics of the supra don't wet my whistle either to be honest. more general use, wide population , current gen bmw design rubbish. difficult to get too exited about it. Then again, they did surprise me with the M2, so there is still hope that its not a turd.

I suspect the Supra will be one of those "looks better in person" type cars.
If you look at the Gazoo Racing Supra race car, you can see the actual production profiles if you subtract the wide fenders front and rear. And it photographs WELL from normal standing height: I see a lot of E86 proportions in this shot. The aesthetic issue I have with it is the Toyota front end. Again, if you take away all the racing bits, it looks a lot like mid '90s Generic Toyota. Maybe that's what they're going for. IMO mid '90s Japanese auto aesthetics are nothing to write home about. All the rumors and numbers though, seems to suggest that this car is going to be as close to a spiritual successor to our MZ4 Coupe as any car BMW will likely ever produce in the future. ~3,000 lbs, 3XXHP, way more torque, 50-50 weight, stiff chassis, Magna Styr build (the original Z4 Coupe concept was built by Magna Styr). While the rumored lack of 3rd pedal might ultimately push me to find a C7 Grand Sport in pursuit of my 2nd mid-life crisis, IF I were to ever buy another BMW, THIS would be it.

If this is not a dead ringer for the Z4 Coupe, I don't know what is.
