Hello, I'm going to be performing an oil change soon, is this the same oil as the castor edge 10w60 I've been using? I got it at the BMW dealership
thanks

BMW switched from Castrol to Shell.
Supposedly just as good. I have a batch in the garage for my next change.

Might want to also consider liquiMoli. M3 owners have been using LM for ages with positive results. I recently switched over to it as well

After years of people saying we needed to use Castrol because it was specially designed to work with our engines suddenly a new contract with Shell and we are supposed to move on to the new recommended product....
I have used Liqui Moly for a few years.

Unless you push your car into extreme parameters, all name brand synthetic oil will perform similarly. It's more important to stick to proper service intervals and use quality filters. Don't mix different brands of oil.

Use what you have and take the time to the next change to research and see if you want to go to something else. Search turns up Liqui Moly 10w-60 GT1. Which looks like it comes in at least 3 different colored 5l jugs. Collect them all?

You can get Castrol Edge TWS at O'Reilly auto now.
They might have to order it, but it will be in the next day.

I use the new BMW Shell oil. I like it. No change in oil consumption or anything. I'd just stick with that, especially since you already have it.

I bought it based on reviews and some Blackstone oil tests. Added bonus is the $9 a liter price (I don't recommend buying oil on price, just an added bonus). If I already purchased the new BMW Shell oil I would use it.

I've used Liqui Moly for engine oil for couple of years. Blackstone have one high lead content report, but others performed better than Catrol 10w-60. I am ready to send another sample out next week.
I use Liqui Moly Gear Oil 75w-140 LS. No noise of any sort. |
